what3words

What is what3words?

what3words is a really simple way to talk about location.

We have assigned each 3m square in the world a unique 3 word address that will never change.

For example ///filled.count.soap marks the exact entrance to what3words’ London headquarters.

3 word addresses are easy to say and share, and are as accurate as GPS coordinates.

==================================================

what3words had a lot to celebrate last month. The BBC reported on how UK emergency services use what3words and featured us on TV, radio and online. The app reached #1 on the UK Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store! And there’s a growing list of emergency services accepting what3words.

Emergency services around the world are adopting what3words

ER24 in South Africa and the Saudi Red Crescent in Saudi Arabia have joined the many UK emergency services that accept 3 word addresses so people can easily say exactly where help is needed.

In the UK, Thames Valley Air Ambulance has made a film explaining how it uses what3words. See its helicopters in action HERE and see a full list of UK emergency services using us HERE.

Hopefully Gloucestershire will join in soon!
