Today our harder walk starts in
Embleton where we soon find the coast with views of Dunstanburgh Castle . |

We head across the dunes . |

We pick up where we left off at Low
Newton . |
||
And continue along the beach . |
||
The castle disappearing over the
horizon . |
||
As we head north . |
||
Pausing at the Long Nanny
Tern Colony . |

To watch the terns turn turning . |
||
Home for the National Trust wardens . |
||
A bridge takes over a small river
estuary . |
||
And another beach . |
||
Brings us to Beadnell Harbour with its
lime kilns . |
||
Tide's out . |

A Northumberland Coble but not the one

Fishing boat with lobster pots stacked
up behind . |

We continue up the coast . |
||
Pausing in search of fossils in the
cliffs . |

One eye on the storm clouds gathering
behind us . |

The ever present sea birds . |

Including a couple of families of
Eider ducks in Seahouses harbour . |

Out at sea we now have sightings of
the Farne Islands . |

Inner Farne with its lighthouse
standing out . |

This lot should make plenty of frogs
legs one day - bit of garlic butter . |

Then our final destination, Banburgh
Castle, the end of our walking in Nirthumberland . |
