A full English breakfast inside us we
head off along Windermere with our Ramblers Holidays Leader Peter . |
It is not a good day . |
But we soon arrive at the ferry . |
And cross to the other side of the
lake . |
Bus waiting at the ferry terminal but
we don't get on until the end of the walk in Hawkeshead . |
We head northwards along the western
side of Windermere . |
Spotting this sign we quickly hide our
fishing lines and guns . |
And walk briskly on in the steady rain
. |
Quite a few shades of green here . |
As we enter woodland . |
Still raining . |
Improvised shelter - umberella hanging
from a tree - as we stop for a drink . |
The lake stil looking gloomy . |
If I put my
head in this hole the rain won't find me . |
Bluebells . |
Lakeside trees with a twisted sinister
look . |
We have a catchup pause before we
start climbing . |
To Wray Castle where we find shelter
for lunch . |
Our afternoon starts with a view of
Blelham Tarn . |
Mike contemplating a quick way back . |
As we walk through a remote farm
before reaching Hawkshead . |
Where this street sign catches our eye . |
And we dive into the nearest tearoom
out of the rain . |
Which is now affecting the photos
although it does add atmosphere to this scene as we wait for our bus to
take us back . |
