Holiday Photos
.
A full English breakfast inside us we head off along Windermere with our Ramblers Holidays Leader Peter
.
It is not a good day
.
But we soon arrive at the ferry
.
And cross to the other side of the lake
.
Bus waiting at the ferry terminal but we don't get on until the end of the walk in Hawkeshead
.
We head northwards along the western side of Windermere
.
Spotting this sign we quickly hide our fishing lines and guns
.
And walk briskly on in the steady rain
.
Quite a few shades of green here
.
As we enter woodland
.
Still raining
.
Improvised shelter - umberella hanging from a tree - as we stop for a drink
.
The lake stil looking gloomy
.
If I put my head in this hole the rain won't find me
.
Bluebells
.
Lakeside trees with a twisted sinister look
.
We have a catchup pause before we start climbing
.
To Wray Castle where we find shelter for lunch
.
Our afternoon starts with a view of Blelham Tarn
.
Mike contemplating a quick way back
.
As we walk through a remote farm before reaching Hawkshead
.
Where this street sign catches our eye
.
And we dive into the nearest tearoom out of the rain
.
Which is now affecting the photos although it does add atmosphere to this scene as we wait for our bus to take us back
.
Photos and captions thanks to Richard.
top As you can see, as well as getting to know the South Cotswolds, we arrange the occasional walking holiday. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our Led Walks Programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the Ramblers.
