On the way there some of us stop at Shaftesbury to see Gold Hill (of Hovis advert fame)
And have a very good cup of coffee at the Salt Cellar at the top of the hill
Posing on the hill we seem to have changed heights?
We set off for a short leg stretcher with views North and South from this Saxon hilltop town
On a clear day ... | |
A very pleasant place | |
Striding off downhill | |
Steeper than it looks | |
And through the allotments
Very productive | |
Before climbimg back up Gold Hill - buttresses of the Abbey grounds on the left
Sophia - where's your bike?
It is not market day on our visit
A lovely memorial bench
And a motto for the week!
In less than an hour we reach West Lulworth House
Over there is the path to Durdle Door
The very new Orangery | |
And a seaside themed room
And we must pop down and see the cove
It looks like a postcard - but it's all my own work!
