Aberystwyth Walking Holiday

Holiday Photos
Today the Ceredigion Coastpath from Ynyslas to Aberystwyth - and guess what, it's raining.
We pass what is reputed to be the only shipyard left in Cardigan Bay
.
After a brief walk in the sand dunes we follow the river Leri, its course much altered to provide drainage
.
Looking back to where it enters the Dyfi Estuary
.
In the afternoon, having dried out in a local cafe, we pick up the coast path again
.
As it undulates along - Borth now behind us
.
A pause for refreshment out of the wind
.
Somebody has been exercising their artistic talents
.
"Keep your mind wide open" written in slate above the figure
.
Continuing along the coast we come down into Clarach Bay with its holiday village
.
And ornamental bridge over the river
.
Unfortunately not beach weather
.
As we climb the hill
.
To get views of Aberystwyth on the other side
.
We can now see our hotel down there
.
There is a quick way down
.
And would you believe it the more indolent of our group
.
Opt for the easy route but their transgression is caught on camera
.
The beach at Aberystwyth almost in monochrome
.
As we start the last lap
.
Bracing ourselves against the wind
.
Brother and sister remembering childhood trips to the sunny seaside
.
