		On our way home we stopped at Manaton on Dartmoor to do a circular walk in the Bovey Valley woodlands. Our numbers were reduced to 12 due partly to the bad weather forecast and partly to people having other things to do. However the weather turned out to be quite kind to us and those who didn't come missed a little gem of a walk. We had some most spectacular views from the top of the moor and walked through meadows of bluebells as well as some really spooky woodland. No walk on the moors would be complete without rushing streams and these were also plentiful. And to finish? Just look at the photos.... .
		We break our journey home at Manaton for a walk setting off over the fields .
		Our numbers now reduced to as we pose for a group photo .
		By this stream .
		Then we head up towards the moor .
		With views over the surrounding villages .
		And bluebells everywhere .
		We continue climbing .
		More views but we can't identify the large building in the distance - any ideas? .
		We reach the top of the tor .
		And take a break sheltered from the strong wind .
		Gerda makes herself comfortable . .

		We continue along the top of the tor .
		There had to be some Dartmoor ponies around .
		Walking through the bluebells .
		Looking back we see the tower of Manaton church in the distance .
		We stop again to admire the views .
		This time we see this unusual building across the valley. The roof seems to be grassed .
		We now start to descend .
		Into an eerie area of moss covered boulders and woodland .
		How did that get there? .
		A tree growing out of a rock? .
		More spooky rocks .
And trees .
At least the sun is starting to shine a bit more .
As we reach the bottom of the valley and John shows us how to cross a narrow bridge .
If only one of them would fall in .
It's not too deep .
But we take a break .
Dave and Maurice pinch the best seat .
And Brian and Christine make themselves comfortable .
Then it's Jacky's turn to show us how to cross a bridge .
Now which way to Manaton? .
Getting close as we pass this thatched cottage .
Striding out now .
They have spotted this sign .
Joy unbounded .
Our holiday finishes with a cream tea .
One last look at Manaton church then we head for home .
