Sidmouth Spring 2006 Day 2
Day 1, Day 3, Day 4
The half a dozen locals didn't expect the bus to be jam packed with walkers on the journey to Branscombe
.
We walked down to the sea and read about the World Heritage Site
.
And then climbed up
.
And up
.
.
What a view - and what a climb
.
The weather was misty, but the gorse was shining bright
.
.
Careful now
.
.
The path was sheltered from the sea breeze by the gorse at times
.
.
We head down to the sea
.
Trying to decide if the steps helped or hindered us
.
Tried to have a sit down, but we were off up again
.
Up and up to
.
The Donkey Sanctuary
.
Where some us took photos
.
Of the donkeys
.
Including Murray
.
No, not Murray Walker! Whilst others
.
Recharged their batteries
.
Next we descended to the tiny village of Salcombe Regis
.
With its huge cherry tree
.
Up again through the woods
.
And down to Sidmouth
.
Where the sun came out
.
Still, it was a good temperature for all that exertion, we reasoned, typical British attitude.
.
And here is the profile - no the hills weren't really that steep, although it felt like it at times!
.
