Whitby and the North York Moors
Spring 2004 Day 5
Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4
Our last day, and yet more glorious sunshine for our morning walk at Robin Hood's Bay.
Downhill first through the village famous for being the end of Wainwright's "Coast to Coast" walk.
Then up again as we head south along the coastline.
Part of the Cleveland Way, the path has been reinforced here with rather smart stones.
Down we go again ...
... to Boggle Hole. Nice view, shame about the drain cover.
This is the life!
After the next climb we get distant views to the rear of Robin Hood's Bay. It appears to be in two sections, the old tumbling down the hillside and the new on the cliff tops.
Wonderful weather, and just along here we have a relaxing drink stop.
The path takes us down yet again to Stoupe Beck Sands for our last "photo op".
Our leader has done a magnificent job over the five days, and is now able to walk on water!
Actually Brian is trying to encourage us to ford the stream.
We are content to cross on the spanking new footbridge....
... thoughtfully provided.
