	A wet start to our walk through Chatsworth Park
	Mary, Queen of Scots, reputedly took the air on this raised garden while she was held prisoner at Chatsworth
	A grand pile
	A pair of fine gates
	And plenty of gold baubles
	We leave the park, glancing back at the long water feature
	And arrive in Edensor, the village rebuilt out of sight of the grand house. Note the tall chimneys and the grand bird
	The last of the Mitford sisters, Deborah, Duchess of Devonshire
	And close by, the grave of Kathleen Cavendish, Marchioness of Hartington, the sister of the future president of the USA, John F Kennedy.
	Immediately in front of Kathleen's grave is a stone marking the visit of President John F Kennedy in June 1963, five months before he was assassinated in Dallas.

	Looking back for a breather, we spot the Hunting Tower way above the main buildings
	Our leader, Helen
	Ann is ready to go
	The others are still finishing off their lunch
	We arrive in Bakewell over the bridge with many locks
	This beautiful medieval bridge over the river Wye is Grade One listed.
