Sidmouth Spring 2006 Day 3
Day 1, Day 2, Day 4
Yesterday the bus, today the tram! Brian loves his journeys, and it enables us to do linear walks, well this was a D shape. First we catch the tram from Colyton to Seaton (down the straight bit of the D and then walk back round the curve)
.
Brian has reserved an early tram especially for us.
All aboard
.
Downstairs
And up
.
.
Hi there - co-ordinated use of the track
.
Our driver stops the traffic at Colyford
.
.
Including some in authority!
.
.
No time for gents to nip to the loo
.
.
We have wide views over the estuary
.
Some people paddle their own canoes
.
All good things come to an end
.
Off we go along Seaton sea front - big hill ahead
.
After a little walk up the estuary, we head towards Lyme Regis
.
Up and up past the golf course
.
Nearing lunchtime we hear the roar of distant motorcycle scrambling, but they stop just as we settle down for lunch on the hillside
.
Down we go via a stream bed
.
And have a much closer view of the proceedings.
Some get very close
.
What a hillside they race up and down, whilst most of us take it more gently
.
Down the other side we cross a soggy valley
.
Finding a suitable bridge to cross and pose
.
Our leader is concerned in case the bridge can't stand the weight of all our excellent meals at the hotel
.
Who's in charge here?
.
Only one more mini hill and we spot Seaton down the river, but our cars are waiting for us where we started our tram ride
.
Another day, another profile - aren't we doing well?
.
