Water on Warm Days

03 Sep 2017

(Republished from 2014, but just as relevant.) Just a reminder that with rising (we hope) temperatures it is very important that you drink plenty of water on walks and I don’t think many of us do. I have just visited Spain where the temperatures were only three or four degrees higher than here and a…

16 Aug 2017

There are roadworks on the Shurdington Road near the Badgeworth junction with 4-way traffic lights. This is causing big traffic jams and will affect people travelling to Enid’s evening walk tomorrow (Thursday 17th) from the Bell at Shurdington. Allow a lot of extra time for your journey.

Leaders, apologies for the error in quoting Olivia’s phone number. Some poor bloke has probably been trying to fend off all your offers of Wednesday walk dates 🙂 Her correct number is 01453 751716 and she still needs quite a few offers. Thanks Mike

Heather and Mike visited the re-opened pub today, and were very pleased with the pub, the food and the staff. The nut roast was made from scratch and the vegetables were mainly grown in the pub garden. Delicious! Good coffee and a bonus was being able to buy jam home made in Miserden. The whole…

Dursley new Long Stay Car Park proposal – thank you!

02 Aug 2017

Thank you to everyone who has written in support of this proposal! Nearly all comments are supportive, not just from walkers but residents, so the prospects look reasonable. South Cotswold Ramblers campaigned to retain the old long stay CP a couple of years ago, and many members wrote in. Although we did not succeed then,…

Don’t forget that Bernard has arranged one more leisurely walk (with meal afterwards) for this coming Monday 31 July from the Ship Inn at Brimscombe, this time starting the other way along the Golden Valley.
