Croquet Evening at the Bear of Rodborough

2 August 2007

Richard writes, "Here are a few photos of the croquet. Use whichever ones you like. If you are going to do the usual I also attach some captions which I don't think will lead to any legal action."
..
Under the patient tutelage of Michael, Ann and organiser Bruno
.
South Cots take a break from walking
.
And try to master the finer points of croquet
.
Not too much back swing Mike - might do yourself an injury
.
At least John looks as though he knows what he is doing
.
We soon find that it is a game requiring a certain amount of skill
.
And Heather shows how it is done
.
Now it is the Chairman's turn
.
Is Kathy trying to hide a smile?
.
Michael continues to coach his pupils with the help of a refreshing drink
.
While back at the start Ann hands out advice to two more teams
.
As another game comes to an end
.
Before we adjourn to the hotel for food and drink, watched by a pensive Bruno
.
And a chance to analyse our performances
.
All smiles here - Karen must have had plenty of offers for the new walks programme
.
The end of an enjoyable evening - lots of empty plates and many new skills acquired
.

.
Wonderful weather - compare and contrast with the morning walk!
.
.
.
Photos and captions thanks to Richard
.
top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our walks programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the national Ramblers' Association.
