Buxton and the Peak District Autumn 2003 Day 1

	Peter led us on a super holiday. On the Friday we met in the Roaches area and did a 5 mile walk.
	Here we are setting off uphill. Most of the holiday was in Derbyshire, but this walk was in Staffordshire - just.
	There are many strange rock formations.
	Here the more intrepid climb up ...
	... then down into Ludd's Church, a natural cleft where services are still held on occasion.
	Tracey took this picture of Bruno emerging from Ludd's Church. It gives you some idea of the amazing geology of the area.
	Interesting fungi were to be seen.
	Jacky took the movies, ably assisted by Brian and Bruno, and Mike did these stills - and each evening the walkers enjoyed or endured an action replay of the day on the hotel television screen.
