.
Brian turns up up a bit late - we offer to help him throw his car in the skip when we get back!
.
We are parked near Eastleach Church
.
As we wait patiently to start Anne's walk
.
We then head up a quiet valley
.
Pausing for early coffee
.
Then continuing up the valley
.
Did I say quiet valley - we are of course near Fairford Airfield
.
Still nothing can disturb this lot
.
Another stop - but what is going on behind our backs?
.
It all looks pretty hare raising
.e Woods
We walk between two crops of rape ripening off
.
Past a windmill which has seen better days
.
Then pausing to inspect
.
A dew pond renovated by the Cotswold Wardens
.
Before lunch on the side of the hill for some
.
Others finding a handy back rest
.
Meanwhile overhead the noise continues
.
A sign telling us that we have been walking on the Hatherop Estate
.
Also signs of a water shortage
.
Heading back down the valley
.
Just lying here, nose covered with flies, contemplating the meaning of life
.
Not far now - Eastleach village across the field
.
With the village hall to prove it
.
And the pub for a welcoming drink
.
Before we head back across the river to the cars.

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our Led Walks Programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the Ramblers.
