Gloomy. Wet. But still 18 hardy souls turn out to catch the view at Symonds Yat
.
Looking down to the river
.
As it circles round below us
.
Refreshed with coffee and cake at the tea shop
.
We head down to Symonds Yat and the ferry over the river Wye
.
Who pays the ferryman? We did and he heads back to the pub pockets brimming over with our money
.
Our route now follows the river
.
To the bridge at Biblins where we anxiously wait to avoid exceeding the weight limit
.
Safely over, a short wait for the leader to work out where next
.
A steep climb takes us over the hill where we have lunch then walk down to
.e Woods
The Suckstone
.
Weather a bit brighter as we walk along a forest track
.
Before once more climbing
.
Moving on to our next rock
.
The Buck Stone
.
T
Followed shortly by the Long Stone - once a meeting place
.
More forest trails
.
And a conifer plantation
.
Bring us back to Christchurch
.
Via a campsite
.
And to the cars
.
.

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our Led Walks Programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the Ramblers.
