We leave the car park at the allotments in Folly Lane
.
Taking a look back over Stroud
.
Our route well marked
..
We make way for a lorry to pass us
.
Before heading downhill
.
Through a hedge
.
And out into the Slad Road
.
Where leader Helen dons her reflective hat to see us safely across
.
A pause at one of the diversions caused by the roadworks in Stroud
.
We then climb the hill looking back at Uplands Church
.
No!
.
And on to Stroud Cemetery
.
A lot of history here
.
And nice views across the valley as we stop for coffee
.
Even some handy benches
.
We now head up the Horns
.
Crossing a stream towards Wasa Wasa
.
And on to the Heavens
.
Now looking towards Doverow Hill
.
And being watched ourselves
.
A catch up stop before we head downhill
.
Welcome but watch out for the horns
.
We arrive at the end of Thrupp Lane
.
And after crossing the A419 find a bridge over the river Frome
.
Before reaching the canal
.
Which we follow
.
Property still awaiting redevelopment
.
Now walking between canal and river
.
As we reach Stroud
.
And go round by the viaduct
.
Along the turbulent river
.
The Hill Paul building looking over the top of some newer industrial units
.
Our lunch break
.
After lunch we cross the Bath Road and make our way
.
Through part of the town's
.
Industrial heritage
.
Making our way along the canal
.
Which we leave at Dudbridge
.
We then head over to Paganhill
.
And up to Bread Street
.
Crossing the valley
.
Through Whiteshill
.
And down to Salmon Springs
.
Where we cross the busy A46
.
Passing Rockfield House
.
Helen stops to do some shopping
.
As we make our way across the hill
.
And back to the cars
.

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our Led Walks Programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the Ramblers.
