.
Having squeezed us all into the car park at the Beaufort Inn, Anne prepares to start the walk
.
And we set off along a narrow lane
.
Soon entering a field
..
And continuing down into a valley
.
Where we follow a small stream
.
Eventually picking up the Cotswold Way
.
Climbing the hill we pass a tree with some wierd looking exposed roots
.
Taking a quick water stop when we reach the top
.
Our route then takes us along the edge of a field
.
Stopping at some stragegically placed logs for coffee, the Somerset Monument peering over the top of the hill
.
Then a short road walk
.
Brings us views over the Severn Vale
.
Caption for photo decided on walk: "Who has lost a packet of Kleenex?"
.
Now it's all downhill
.
Until we reach Orange End - a name which brings a smile to some faces
.
But it has got a nice village green, with a grazing horse
.
A short walk across a field
.
And over a footbridge
.
Brings us along the road into Hawkesbury
.
With its old church
.
And from Hawkesbury to Hawkesbury Upton can only mean one thing - a hill
.
Which we soon climb
.
Reaching a farm track
.
Which brings us back into Hawkesbury Upton and lunch at the pub
.

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our Led Walks Programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the Ramblers.
