.
With numbers growing to reach around 40 we meet in Arlingham for Ray's walk
.
And Ray arrives to take us on the Skylark walk - part of the Arlingham Horseshoe
.
Could bury a few ramblers in that trench!
..
We pass the old Ebenezeer Church dating back to July 12th 1820
.
And make our way across the fields
.
Some with crops, to one of the many kissing gates on our route
.
We approach the giddy heights of Barrow Hill
.
Making our way up to the top
.
Chance to record the view
.
As we wait for stragglers to catch up
.
Looking over the Severn with Fretherne Church in the trees
.
Then Ray leads us back downhill
.
Through another kissing gate
.
Having reached a more sheltered spot we stop for coffee
..
Might get a grant from the EU to replace that trailer
.
In line astern we walk a short stretch of road
.
Then form up along a fence - why?
.
We have reached the river
.
Some debris washed up here
.
A misty view up the river
.
One last area of mud to negotiate
.
Before we head back past Arlingham Church
.
Walking on the grass verge to clean our boots as we reach the cars
.

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our Led Walks Programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the Ramblers.
