.
The view from Splatt Bridge on the coldest day so far in 2010
.
As Joe prepares us for the coming walk
.
Which starts with a brisk walk along the Sharpness Canal
..
To Cambridge Junction Bridge
.
A pause for a photo opportunity in the Rosies Wood Trust area
.
Then back along the River Cam
.
Some lonely bull rushes
.
And a fence which comes down to the water
.
Ramblers dwarfed by a row of tall trees
.
Before we re-cross the river
.
Pausing to take in the view
.
After which we are confronted by this sign - food for thought!
.
We continue keeping strictly to the footpath
.
Hopefully the picnic area isn't off the footpath
.
Just a lump of stone? - No far more exciting - reconstituted some 250 yrs ago near Bath!
..
We now reach Frampton Lakes
.
Still a bit icy
.
Through the boats lined up at the sailing club
.
To the next lake where lunch is taken
.
The afternoon starts along a waterlogged path
.
And round a field
.
To the river Frome
.
We then follow the road
.
To Whitminster Church
.
Where Joe tells the story of bodies being built into the structure
.
We cross the Sharpness canal at Saul Junction
.
Pause to look across to the marina
.
And back at the junction with the Willow Trust boats
.
Before stopping for afternoon tea at the Canal Trust
.
Then its back along the canal
.
To Frampton
.
With one last look across the Severn
.

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our Led Walks Programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the Ramblers.
