Joe runs through his pre walk preamble
.
Before setting off from Alderley along the Cotswold way - Joe soon establishing a healthy lead
.
But we catch up at the first gateway
..
We then head up the valley
.
Towards Tresham
.
With a pause half way up
.
The view back down the valley
.
Stopping for coffee at the Millennium Memorial at Tresham
.
And a chance to eat the complementary bar supplied by our sponsor, Nature Valley
.
We cross over the ridge and look down on the Severn Valley
.
And then pause
.
To take in the views across to Ozleworth Park
.
Before descending into the valley
.
On a wooded path
.
To reach the stream at the bottom
..
Passing the old estate cottages
.
We continue along the bottom of the valley
.
Following the stream
.
Which we now cross
.
Once the ladies have caught up
.
And continue up the winding Ozleworth Valley
.
Yes, our leader has a fishing rod! Don't know what he is hoping to catch!
.
Our path now follows the estate road
.
Past London Bridge
.
And we wend our weary way
.
Up to Ozleworth Park
.
Stopping in the churchyard for lunch
.
A quick look inside
.
Then we set off past the main house
.
And continue up the valley
.
To Newark Park where we stop to admire the former Tudor hunting lodge, later transformed into a Georgian home
.
Joe takes a closer look - Read more here

Our path continues along the Cotswold Way
.
Where we have views
.
Over the Severn Vale
.
Back down towards Alderley
.
What's going on here then?
.
Mike's washing the mud off his boots to make someone's job easier when he gets home!
.
Before we know it we are back in the car park
.

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our Led Walks Programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the Ramblers.
