Le jour ou la pluie viendra - yet again!

You don't just come here for the photos - free enlightenment too!

Le jour ou la pluie viendra nous serons toi et moi -The day the rain comes we will be you and me
Les plus riches du monde, les plus riches du monde - The richest of the world, the world's richest
Les arbres pleureront de joie offriront dans leurs bras - Trees weep with joy in their arms offer
Les plus beaux fruits du monde - The finest fruit in the world
Les plus beaux fruits du monde ce jour là - The finest fruit in the world that day
La triste, triste terre rouge qui craque, craque à l'infini - The sad, sad red earth crack, crack to infinity
Les branches nues que rien ne bouge - The bare branches that nothing moves
Se gorgeront de pluie, de pluie - Gorging themselves Rain, rain
Et le blé roulera par vague au fond des greniers endormis - And wheat roll Wave in attics asleep
Et tu m'enroules rouleras de vague et de colliers jolies jolies - And you wrap me rolling waves and pretty pretty necklaces
Oui, oui, oui, oui, oui, oui, oui - Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes (obviously!)
Le jour ou la pluie viendra nous serons, toi et moi - The day the rain will we, you and me
Les fiancés du monde les plus riches du monde - The engaged the world's richest world
Les arbres pleureront de joie offriront dans leurs bras - Trees weep with joy in their arms offer
Les plus beaux fruits du monde, les plus beaux fruits du monde - The finest fruit in the world, the finest fruits in the world
Ce jour là, ce jour là - That day, that day .

.
But as we leave Leighterton, are we downhearted?
.
Well yes - but we press on determindly towards Westonbirt
..
Allen indicating to the back marker the need to reconnect the electric fence
.
While John forges ahead - a true leader of men - and women
.
A pause for a stile
.
We head down a muddy track
.
Before entering the Arboretum
.
Where autumn colours still abound
.
With majestic trees
.
And mysterious fungi
.
A signpost indicates the various paths
.
As we press on
.
Looking back down the wide avenue
.
We pause for coffee under a willow tree (alternative caption - wind in the willow?)
.
Seating provided for some - I have said before that he will do some damage with that cudgel
.
Our walk continues with Mike doing a commercial for walks leaders for the new programme
.
Then it's over a stile
.
And off over fields
.
Choosing the easy route along a waterlogged path
.
Before taking to a farm track
.
Bringing us back to Leighterton pond
.
With its variety of wild birds
.
The village church peers out over the rooftops
.
As we reach the Royal Oak, soon to provide our lunch
.
Thank you Richard for the photos and captions
top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our Led Walks Programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the Ramblers.
