		One day he is going to do someone a mischief with that shellelagh .
		But no harm done this time and John leads us off through Avening Churchyard .
		Where we spot some of the carvings ..
		On the war memorial .
		We pause at the top of the hill .
		Before heading across fields - now how can I get someone to carry me? .
		A quick check of numbers -they all seem to be here .
		And we head towards Chavenage .
		Carefully leaving the field .
		As Bruno prevents an inquisitive horse from coming with us .
		We gather .
		In front of Chavenage House .
		Before continuing past Wildlife World at Manor Farm Barn .
		Shortly stopping again for John to announce banana time .
		While Stanley,our youngest member, looks on .
		We continue on our walk .
		Eventually picking up a lane which takes us into Tetbury .
		Now what did we do with our back marker? .
		We leave Tetbury across fields .
		Shouldn't he be wearing a crash helmet? .
		A few clouds about now .
		Cattle watch us suspiciously as we cross their field .
		Then it's time for lunch .
		Taken in the shadow of a derelict wind pump .
		Making ourselves comfortable .
		The afternoon starts as we make our way round a field of rye grass .
		Our group stretching out as we climb a short hill .
		The path becomes muddy .
		As we head round the back of Avening .
		The autumn colours standing out .
We have views over the wall into Avening Court .
And the usual view through the hole in the wall .
We climb the stile up to the golf course .
Where a halt is called to photograph .
This fungus - 20p coin placed courtesy of John but retrieved very quickly after the photo is taken .
We proceed across the golf course - John walking backwards .
Leaving it via a rather tricky stone stile .
A row of cottages across the field - now holiday lets .
We head down Steps Lane, Gatcombe House hiding behind the trees .
And down into Avening village where our walk ends
