.
Bernard picks a good weather day to continue his trek eastwards along the Cotswold Canals
.
After reminding us where we have got to
.
We continue
..
Passing bridges
.
And Gough's Orchard Lock, where a work party has been making an impression
.
To Brimscombe
.
And its historical port - Read more here and here
.
On we go towards Chalford
.
Passing a Grade 2 Listed signal box
.
So Bernard informs us
.
Then a coffee stop inside here for some
.
Old and new - Brunel's viaduct carries the latest models
.
Only 23 and 3/4 to the Thames!
.
Near Frampton Mansell Bernard makes sure we are all together
.
Before climbing steeply
.
And crossing the railway carefully
.
More ups
.
Nearly there now
.
A sunny spot for our picnic stop
.
Our return is via sunny hilltops with posing sheep
.
Don't forget us!
.
Is it Bussage or Chalford Hill across the valley?
.
The Golden Valley looks just that
.
Eventually we descend
.
Leaving a trail on the way
.
Jane and Janet last through the squeeze stile
.
What's that to the left?
.
Lloyds Bank might like this snap?
.
Our cars are somewhere down there!
.
Down we go on a little walked path
.
To emerge by Brimscombe Cemetery, where 'tis but a short step retracing our way along the canal to the cars.

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our Led Walks Programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the Ramblers.
