.
Ray stops to show us the Castle Combe TV ariel hidden away in the woods outside the village
.
Before we continue down the valley
.
Our path taking us round the edge of someone's garden
.
Where we stop to look down the valley
.
And talk
.
A clamber over a stile
.
And on to North Wraxall
.
Where coffee is taken at the church
.
No chance of taking this painting though - its alarmed
.
It starts to drizzle as we leave the church
.
Squeezing past a tractor
.
A pause to remove waterproofs which had been briefly worn
.
And we set off again
.
Taking briefly to a road
.
A colourful tree
.
And a picturesque garden
.
Views now restricted by high hedges either side
.
Our route takes us down into West Kington
.
{short description of image}
Stopping to say hello to this chap
.
Who lives across the road from some of his bigger friends
.
We now follow a stream
.
Poles needed to stop us falling into the water
.
An idyllic spot
.
We head uphill
.
To the church
.
For lunch
.
Leaving the churchyard
.
We head out of the village
.
Through some thick undergrowth
.
Along the valley
.
Having rung the bell
.
We cross the golf course
.
And pause to look from this bridge
.
Towards the hotlel in Castle Combe
.

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our Led Walks Programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the Ramblers.
