.
The Daneway. Forecast grim. Hurricane Bill upon us. Should be in for a wet one!
.
So why are 12 ramblers gathered in the car park?
.
Mad? Not bothered by rain? Some don't even wear waterproofs
.
We head off over to Tunley
.
Still no rain. The cows seem happy in the trench
.
Allen ever the gentleman
.
And exhibitionist
.
As we head down the valley
.
And through the woods
.
Approaching Waterlane
.
Where a collie attempts to round us up
.
Before he is captured by his owner
.
Still no rain. Waterproofs coming off
.
Crossing the road in Iles Green
.
We follow the fields along the side of the valley
.
Slight chance of rising damp from the wet grass
.
Then an awkward stile is negotiated
.
We head down the fields to Bakers Mill
.
{short description of image}
And over the bridge to the canal path
.
I once heard that the average length of a rain storm in the UK is 20 mins!
.
So I don't let a bad forecast stop me - and it looks like blackberry and apple pie for dinner tonight!
.
Crossing the canal we make our way back untouched by rain
.

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our Led Walks Programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the Ramblers.
