| The Daneway. Forecast grim. Hurricane
Bill upon us. Should be in for a wet one! . |
| So why are 12 ramblers gathered in the
car park? . |
| Mad? Not bothered by rain? Some don't
even wear waterproofs . |
| We head off over to Tunley . |
| Still no rain. The cows seem happy in
the trench . |
| Allen ever the gentleman . |
| And exhibitionist . |
| As we head down the valley . |
| And through the woods . |
| Approaching Waterlane . |
| Where a collie attempts to round us up . |
| Before he is captured by his owner . |
| Still no rain. Waterproofs coming off . |
| Crossing the road in Iles Green . |
| We follow the fields along
the side of the valley . |
| Slight chance of rising damp from the
wet grass . |
| Then an awkward stile is negotiated . |
| We head down the fields to Bakers Mill . |
| And over the bridge to the canal path . |
| I once heard that the average length
of a rain storm in the UK is 20 mins! . |
| So I don't let a bad forecast stop me
- and it looks like blackberry and apple pie for dinner tonight! . |
| Crossing the canal we make
our way back untouched by rain . |

| As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our Led Walks Programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the Ramblers. |
