| Now I know everybody turned up early
but I think the playground clock might be a little slow . |
| Still we wait in the village hall car
park, eyeing the coffee shop, waiting for Carole to start the walk . |
| We slow down as we near Whiteshill
church . |
| Before heading down the fields . |
| Towards Callowell . |
| And along the side of the valley . |
| To Pitchcombe . |
| With views across the Painswick Valley . |
| Eventually reaching Scottquar Hill . |
| Where we stop for coffee and to allow
stragglers to catch up . |
| Then it's to the woods . |
| And across the fields to Bird in Hand . |
| Plenty of shade from the sun (well it
looked out occasionally) . |
| As we walk through Standish Woods on
the Cotswold Way . |
| Till we come out on the
top of the hill and admire the views over the Severn Vale . |
| And towards Cam Long Down . |
| We continue along the Cotswold Way . |
| Heading towards Randwick . |
| Passing narrow stiles where some
people need a push to get through . |
| Before heading down the valley . |
| Over the bridge at the bottom . |
| Climbing again as the path
takes us round a football pitch . |
| Through a
stable yard where the occupants come out to say hello . |
| Looking cheerful - the end must be in
sight . |
| Slowed down by another narrow stile -
give her a push Christine! . |
| Continuing downhill . |
| Past Ruscombe pond to the end of our
walk . |

| As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our Led Walks Programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the Ramblers. |
