.
The view over the Severn from the car park at Birdlip
.
As Graham (left) prepares to lead us off
.
Across country
.
To Cowley where we pass through the Manor gateway
.
To the Church
.
All God's creatures after all!
.
Still, the churchyard makes a handy coffee stop
.
Before we continue our walk
.
Out of Cowley
.
And along a wide track pausing to admire the view
.
To Upper Coberley
.
A stop to regroup
.
And we head across country
.
Passing this cottage in the woods - now a holiday cottage
.
As we walk along a tree lined ridge
.
And round a field of wheat
.
Heading down towards Colesbourne
.
No cottage should be without a satellite dish
.
The sun still shining through the trees
.
A bridge spanning nothing in the middle of a field
.
We arrive at Colesbourne Church where we stop for lunch
.
Our path now takes us along a wooded lane
.
With views across to our morning route
.
As we continue along the side of the valley
.
Then starting to climb
.
Some garlic butter and a few of his friends - would make a nice afternoon snack
.
The path takes us down into a dip
.
Before heading up to Elkestone Church
.
Then continuing across their field - now can Alpacas turn nasty?
.
Across a field of wheat
.
Following a crumbling stone wall
.
Our back markers pressing resolutely on
.
Sheep as far as the eye can see
.
Please Mr Farmer can we have our glider back?
.
And we finally head back under the A417 to the car park
.

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our Led Walks Programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the Ramblers.
