.
A time for quiet contemplation as we consider the prospect of a 14 mile walk on a hot and humid day led by Helen (centre)
.
Before making our way over Selsley Common
.
Heading down towards Kings Stanley
.
Crossing the A419
.
Pausing for an essential drink stop before beginning our first climb of the day
.
On the Cotswold Way
.
As we make our way to Randwick, Olivia demonstrates that gates pose no problem to her
.
As others queue for a slightly inaccessible stile
.
We pass Randwick Church
.
And continue into the school playground - do these belong to the pupils or are rumours of teachers' low pay true?
.
Back into the valley a narrow stile is safely negotiated by everyone
.
And as we look down the valley we can see Rodborough with its church in the distance
.
We now head down to Salmon Springs
.
Coming onto the A46
.
Where an advance party
.
Helps the rest of us cross this busy road
.
The beginning of another climb
.
Up through woods
.
Lunch finishes abruptly when Mia discovers she has been sitting on an ants' nest
.
And we continue round the bottom of Slad
.
With views across Stroud to Frocester Hill
.
As we negotiate the edge of Swifts Hill
.
And on to Lypiatt Park
.
A slight diversion into Toadsmoor
.
Before heading back across the top of the hill
.
Holding tightly to our hats
.
And down
.
Towards Thrupp
.
We now pay for the descent as we start the climb to Rodborough Common
.
And the icecream factory
.
We cross the top of Rodborough Common
.
Before descending to Rooksmoor
.
Then back up again through the woods
.
To our starting point
.

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our Led Walks Programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the Ramblers.
