		The layby near Tortworth marks the start of Tim's walk .
		After walking into Charfield we head out along a lane .
		Soon taking to the fields .
		Crossing a stream over a new metal bridge .
		Then continuing along the side of the stream .
		Before circling a field full of spring flowers and broad beans .
		We continue through the water meadows .
		A stile eventually bringing us out onto a lane .
		Maximum of three people at a time over this bridge .
		We climb uphill .
		Stopping at the ancient Tortworh chestnut .
		For coffee .
		Then continuing uphill .
		With pleasant pastoral views .
		And looking back towards Tortworth Church .
		There follows a long road stretch past Leyhill Prison .
		Arriving at the pub for lunch, some pausing on the green to eat their sandwiches .
		Others opting for the pub lunch watched hopefully by the landlord's dogs .
		The afternoon walk begins .
		Our route takes us across more fields .
		The gate creaks and groans under pressure from this inquisitive herd .
		As we walk down a broad avenue of trees .
		Squeezing through a narrow gap in a wide hedge .
		And round a field of barley .
		To the church .
		Where we stop by the memorial to those who lost their lives in the Charfield rail crash .
		And Tim tells us all about it .
		With pictures to illustrate .
		While a slow worm makes a slow getaway .
		We now head back into Charfield .
		Crossing a shallow stream .
Some pausing at the church to buy plants as we head back to the cars .

As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat.
