.
The Tunnel House - we have come to right place
.
And here is John waiting to lead us on our way
.
Across the fields
.
To Tarlton
.
We follow a broad track
.
To a kissing gate
.
Raising a smile in spite of the gloomy day
.
Across a cropped field - the farmer has thoughtfully marked our path
.
Now what's that sign doing in the middle of the hedge?
.
A quick slurp of coffee
.
And we continue on our way
.
We cross the A419 and look down on the gap in the middle of the Sapperton railway tunnel
.
Relaxing after a long road walk
.
Before continuing across the fields to Hailey Wood
.
Where we spot an old ventilation shaft to the Canal Tunnel
.
Now on a forestry track
.
With more signs of spring
.
Looks like a Brunel railway bridge to me
.
Back at the Tunnel House we prepare to go in for lunch
.
Photos and captions thanks to Richard omce again.
top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our Led Walks Programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the Ramblers.
