A chance to have a look at the Severn as we wait for the walk to start in Framilode
.
Also a quick look inside the Church
.
Before Bernard calls us to order indicating the spot where the Stroudwater Canal once joined the River
.
We set off along the Canal
.
Then briefly along the Frome
.
Pausing at the Canal Trust shop for coffee and to see inside a narrow boat
.
We cross the Sharpness Canal at Junction Bridge
.
And continue along the Stroudwater Canal with its narrow boats
.
Another pause for an injection of information from Bernard
.
And we continue along the river
.
Looking back at Occupation Bridge
.
Just counting the eggs to see how many screaming kids I am going to end up with
.
An unusual cloud formation splitting the sky in two
.
Lots of blossom this year
.
The bridge to nowhere
.
The William Morris former workhouse
.
And the new bridge at Eastington
.
We walk along the canal to Blunder Lock
.
Where Bernard stops to explain why Blunder
.
How cute can you get?
.
A pause to inspect the watch tower and bridge at Bonds Mill - and to allow the lamb lovers to catch up
.
Before proceeding to the Ocean where lunch is taken
.
St Cyr's Church behind us
.
Our afternoon begins with us passing through the first kissing gate erected by the Group using money from book sales
.
And continues along the water meadows
.
Across a rather busy river Frome
.
And through this unusual double stile
.
We continue across the fields towards the motorway
.
A tunnel takes us underneath
.
And we follow the River Frome
.
Which we cross
.
Before proceeding to Whitminster Church
.
We rejoin our outward path - Bernard with a smile of success on his face
.
Soon getting back to Framilode
.
With one last reminder that the ducks have been at it as well
.

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our Led Walks Programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the Ramblers.
