.
Climbing the road behind the Daneway we cross a stile into a field
.
We continue across the field to Siccaridge Woods Nature Reserve
.
Then drop down to the canal
.
As we climb the other side we have views over the valley
.
Following the path over the railway line
.
And into Frampton Mansell
.
We walk through the village
.
Stopping for coffee just outside
.
The path takes us through Sapperton Woods
.
And into the village of Sapperton
.
Stories of a ferocious wild cat on the loose are greatly exaggerated
.
We follow the road through the village watching men rebuilding a stone wall
.
And passing this strange assortment of horses
.
We take the path along the top of the hill
.
Which proves a little muddy at times
.
Dropping down into the valley we get this different view of Pinsbury Park
.
Give a rambler a stream and he will wash his boots
.
Our youngest rambler, Megan, accompanied by proud granny
.
A pause for Megan to reflect - what am I doing out with this bunch of old fogies?
.
The steepest climb of the day
.
Brings us out into Dorvel Wood
.
Which we follow
.
Back to the Daneway, joined for the last stretch by some polo ponies
.
Photos and captions thanks to Richard, who also leads the walk. What would we do without him!
top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our Led Walks Programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the Ramblers.
