| From the car park Graham leads us down
into Castle Combe . |
| Walking through the village . |
| With its picturesque cottages
. |
| Before our path takes us over the
stream . |
| And we continue down the valley . |
| Criss crossing a maze of streams
. |
| Till we meet another rambling group
coming the other way . |
| Well, it's nice to dip your feet in
water after a hard walk . |
| We continue along the banks of the
stream . |
| Signs of spring appearing everywhere . |
| A grassy bank is found for coffee . |
| And we walk briefly along the busy
A420 . |
| Before taking
once more . |
| To the banks of the stream . |
| Another crossing . |
| And a small pond . |
| The Cotswold Wardens have busy bridge
building around here . |
| Although this one probably pre-dates
their activity . |
| A break to decide if we are going to
exceed the weight limit . |
| Followed by a long climb uphill . |
| Where we are greeted by this young
lady . |
| We eventually reach Biddeston . |
| With its tollgate . |
| A local mini bus - interesting name . |
| We stop for lunch . |
| Another mini bus - proprietor must
have a thing about the magic roundabout . |
| We skirt a ploughed field . |
| Heading across the top of the hill . |
| Before a farm track . |
| Brings us to a small hamlet . |
| Another pause for back markers to
catch up . |
| Before we head back along the top of
the valley . |
| To Castle Combe . |
| Climbing back up to the car park past the museum | ||
| Photos and captions thanks once again to Richard. |
| As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our Led Walks Programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the Ramblers. |
