.
From the car park Graham leads us down into Castle Combe
.
Walking through the village
.
With its picturesque cottages
.
Before our path takes us over the stream
.
And we continue down the valley
.
Criss crossing a maze of streams
.
Till we meet another rambling group coming the other way
.
Well, it's nice to dip your feet in water after a hard walk
.
We continue along the banks of the stream
.
Signs of spring appearing everywhere
.
A grassy bank is found for coffee
.
And we walk briefly along the busy A420
.
Before taking once more
.
To the banks of the stream
.
Another crossing
.
And a small pond
.
The Cotswold Wardens have busy bridge building around here
.
Although this one probably pre-dates their activity
.
A break to decide if we are going to exceed the weight limit
.
Followed by a long climb uphill
.
Where we are greeted by this young lady
.
We eventually reach Biddeston
.
With its tollgate
.
A local mini bus - interesting name
.
We stop for lunch
.
Another mini bus - proprietor must have a thing about the magic roundabout
.
We skirt a ploughed field
.
Heading across the top of the hill
.
Before a farm track
.
Brings us to a small hamlet
.
Another pause for back markers to catch up
.
Before we head back along the top of the valley
.
To Castle Combe
.
Climbing back up to the car park past the museum
Photos and captions thanks once again to Richard.
top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our Led Walks Programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the Ramblers.
