Leaving a quiet backstreet of Uley
.
We head across the village green with its display of daffodils
.
And head uphill to Uley Bury
.
Where we walk round the top
.
With views of Downham Hill in the mist
.
Pausing to look down
.
Over Uley
.
Before walking downhill
.
On a rocky path
.
Taking coffee halfway down with more views over Uley
.
Continuing downhill
.
Past a garden with heavily guarded daffodils
.
We reach the lower end of Uley
.
And cross over the Millennium Green
.
Continuing down into the valley
.
Kathy heads up to Owlpen
.
Walking round the front of the manor house
.
And past Grist Mill
.
Before starting to climb
.
What's this 'ere then?
.
We stop for a photo of
.
The camera man - note the athleticism, the youthful vigour and grace......
.
Two old timers make their way over a stream
.
We climb the hill with somewhat sunnier views of Uley
.
Passing some newly shorn sheep
.
Then heading back downhill to Uley
.
Photos and tongue in cheek captions thanks to Richard.
top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our Led Walks Programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the Ramblers.
