.
Alex reflects on her crowd control skills as she surveys the 35 ramblers gathered in Sapperton
.
Below Sapperton we encounter a new stone marker
.
By the side of a stream
.
And we all hurry downhill
.
To take a closer look at the new bridge
.
There follows a steep climb
.
And a walk through Dorvel Woods
.
Coming out by Daneway House with its weathervane
.
We circle the side of the hill
.
And down into the valley before climbing up to Iles Green
.
I'm lost for words!
.
Our path takes us across fields
.
Until we find a suitable place for coffee
.
Following which we run the gauntlet of a herd of cattle
.
Eventually arriving in Oakridge
.
With its Church
.
We then follow a path
.
Downhill into the Chalford Valley
.
Where we are invited by Daphne Neville to see her otters
.
She gives us an interesting talk
.
Introducing us to her other animals
.
And her garden
.
The famous swan without a partner
.
We then head along the canal
.
Past flooded fields
.
Alex peers back for stragglers
.
While John points out a hazard over the path
.
We pause at the Daneway Portal
.
Before heading up to Sapperton
.

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our Led Walks Programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the Ramblers.
