Nailsworth circular

Sat 20 December 2008

.
28 of us meet in the car park of the Naisworth Garden Centre ready for John's morning walk - Santa is too puffed out to join us!
.
.
We start our climb up to the top
..
.
Through the beech woods
.
.
And up the steep meadows
.
.
Where some of us need to strip off after such exertion
.
.
John thoughtfully prepares the way with hIs secateurs
..
.
Still warm he leads us
.
.
Past curious sheep
.
.
And over water to our coffee stop
.
.
Then he finds us plenty of mud in Ledgemore Bottom
.
.
We emerge at Chavenage Green
.
.
And follow a track
.
.
Into a pleasantly green valley
.
.
I know it - he has discovered some Grade A mud - what's so funny, Allen?
.
.
Up we climb
.
.
To emerge into a brief spell of winter sun
.
.
And have a breather
.
.
Attractive bones of winter trees
.
.
What tracks? - more like boggy bits!
.
.
We weave from side to side searching for less muddy ground
.
.
And gather ready for the final descent back to the cars
.
.

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our walks programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the national Ramblers' Association.
