Chavenage Green and south of Nailsworth

Tue 2 December 2008

.
John studies his map (and menu?) as we set off from Chavenage Green
.
.
We seem to have upset these two
..
.
As we continue across fields
.
.
Back markers in place
.
.
A pause as we come to a road
.
.
Then we cross Babdown Airfield
..
.
Before a leafy lane
.
.
Brings us to a handy wall for coffee
.
.
We continue along the top of the hill
.
.
Looking across Lasborough Valley
.
.
Then head downhill
.
.
The derelict church at Newington Bagpath looking down on us
.
.
As we continue up the valley
.
.
Passing this plump local
.
.
Before our lunch
.
.
At Hunters Hall
.
.
The afternoon starts with a stroll through Kingscote
.
.
Looking across rolling country
.
.
The cross field path drops down towards Horsley
.
.
The sun now shining on us
.
.
As our route takes us round a ploughed field
.
.
And into woods
.
.
We reach the bottom of the valley below Horsley
.
.

Before climbing back up to Tiltups End
.
.
Our path now taking us across country
.
.
And back to the cars
.
.
.
Photos and captions thanks once again to Richard

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our walks programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the national Ramblers' Association.
