southcotswoldramblers.org.uk Miserden day out Sat 26 July 2008 . |
| On
one of the hottest days of the year we set off from Miserden . . |
| Through
the village . . |
| Towards
Sudgrove where this little fellow provides some diversion . . |
| We
head down into the valley .. . |
| Then
through fields of barley . . |
| Hats
being an important part of dress in the relentless heat of the sun . . |
| A
difficult stile, but as we are slightly off of the right of way we can't
complain . . |
| Now
we head back up the hill with Througham Farm in the background . . |
| Then
our path follows a stream . . |
| Before
we reach Edgeworth Church . . |
| Where
we have a brief stop . . |
| Before
passing the Manor . . |
| And
on towards . . |
| Middle
Duntisbourne . . |
| Where
lunch is taken by a cooling stream . . |
| A
good opportunity to get the boots off . . |
| Then
its up the valley to Winstone . . |
| Under
the watchful eye of a buzzard . . |
| Before
circumnavigating a wheat field . . |
| And
climbing up a steep slope . . |
| To
Syde Church . . |
| We
then cross the valley . . |
| To
Caudle Green . . |
| A
final pause in Miserden Park for the last important sips of water . . |
| Before
making our way back . . |
| With
a last look down over the Park . . |
| To the cars | |||
| . | |||
| Photos
and captions thanks yet again to Richard, who also leads the walk with
Di.

| As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our walks programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the national Ramblers' Association. | |||
