Daneway, Pinbury Park and Edgeworth

Thu 26 June 2008

.As well as leading the walk, Richard manages to take these photos
.
Terry and Andrea, prospective new members, show us how it is done as we stride up the hill to Sapperton
.
.
Where we are accosted by some hungry ducks
.
.
And of course stop to say hello
.
.
Before checking out this idyllic cottage garden
..
.
I'm probably called Spotty
.
.
As we head towards Pinbury Park something catches our eye
.
.
{short description of image}
It's a herd of stampeding cattle
.
.
The view across to Pinbury Park House once home of poet John Masefield
.
.
As we take to the woods heading towards Edgeworth the undergrowth gets thicker
.
.
And we descend steeply into the valley
.
.
Someone going the wrong way? No just a quick diversion to look at a clapper bridge
.
.
We enter the grounds of Edgeworth House through an ancient metal gate and stile
.
.
We leave Edgeworth climbing
.
.
Towards this mother and baby - they look quite friendly
.
.
Not so sure about him - thank heavens for zoom lenses
.
.
Krys plays to the camera while Andy plays the intrepid explorer
.
.
Bill hunts out the wild flowers as we head back to the Daneway for lunch
.
.
And some of us spot this fine Mullein (photo from Allen)

.
Thanks to Richard for photos and captions
.
.
top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our walks programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the national Ramblers' Association.
