Avening figure of eight

Wed 7 May 2008

.
The photographer arrives just in time for lunch to do the afternoon walk. Lunch is free as the pub messed up the arrangements
.
.
Leaving Avening we start up
.
.
Towards Steps Lane
.
.
With views across to Gatcombe Park
..
.
And Nailsworth
.
.
A right upper cut coming for our leader, John
.
..
As we head over a stile
.
.
And on to the golf course
.
.
Clear priorities have been established on the golf course
.
.
And we drop down into the valley
.
.
Stopping on the way for a drink
.
.
Before climbing down this difficult stile
.
.
And taking the road up the other side of the valley
.
.
Past this peephole into the garden
.
.
Of Avening Court
.
.
We continue along the top of the hill
.
.
Thoughtfully eyeing this des. res. in need of some improvement
.
.
Before heading down the hill
.

.
And back into Avening
.
.

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our walks programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the national Ramblers' Association.
