Marshfield meanderings

Thu 1 May 2008

.
We enter Marshfield by the pond
.
.
Accurate location (in olden times)
.
.
And imagine the old coach and horses, exhausted after theIr pull up from Bristol.
.
.
We pass the old Almshouses
..
.
And their well kept vegetable plot
.
.
And set off following Enid on our circular walk
.
.
The height of dandelion time
.
.
And the blackthorn is well in flower after a cool April
.
.
Looking back we see we have come along Dukwick Lane
.
.
We come to a wide viewpoint
.
.
And walk steeply down
.
.
Avoiding the cowslips
.
.
On the steep slope
.
.
Past bluebells and ramsons in the woods
.
.
Before the inevitable ascent
.
.
Horse chestnuts are busrting into leaf
.
.
An amazing sky
.
.
Several ups and downs bring us back to Marshfield
.
Up to the churchyard passing some almost black tulips
.
.

To the vicarage, where Enid (right) says goodbye to some of the walkers.

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our walks programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the national Ramblers' Association.
