Fromebridge Mill

15 March 2008

.
The first thing to notice as we gather in the car park of Fromebridge Mill is that Bernard has a new hat
.
.
We set off through the Mill
.
.
Passing the water wheel
.
.
Then heading off towards Frampton
.
.
And through the park
.
.
Where we encourage some geese to take to the water
.
.
We set off along a muddy track
.
.
Then pause by another lake
.
.
For coffee
.
.
A swan taking off just clears the hedge
.
.
Bernard prods the hedge looking for a stile
.
.
Our presence in the field disturbs a small herd of horses
.
.
As we pass the farmhouse
.
.
At 11.30am the rain promised for 2.00pm
.
.
As we trudge across the fields
.
.
Towards the motorway
.
.
Where the tunnel passing under it makes a good shelter to don more waterproofs
.
.
We head out of the tunnel on the other side of the motorway
.
.
Do proper ramblers carry umberellas? - discuss
.
.

We follow the path along the river Frome
.
.
A waterlogged gateway. Could there still be a foot in this welly?
.
.
Continuing along the river to the Mill. Lunch and a wet afternoon walk for some. Home and an afternoon in front of the fire watching Rugby for the photographer!
.
.
.
Photos and captions thanks to Richard.

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our walks programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the national Ramblers' Association.
