Rodborough and Selsley workout

26 February 2008

.
The Car Park by Rodborough Fort marks our starting point for Richard and Diana and their workout
.
.
And we head off across the Common
.
.
Eventually heading down
.
.
Towards Bear Hill
.
.
We walk through Manor Woods
.
.
And emerge
.
.
To cross these fields to Woodchester
.
.
Crossing a muddy stream on our way
.
.
Then our climb up Bospin Lane starts
.
.
Towards Selsley
.
.
As we near the top a fly past has been organised for us
.
.
And we pause on Selsley Common to admire the view and put on warmer clothing in the fierce wind
.
.
Interesting lighting on the far hills
.
.
We then head downhill with views over Stroud
.
.
Through woods towards North Woodchester
.
.
Passing the pets' cemetery
.
.
And making good use of the newly installed crossing at Rooksmoor
.
.
Then heading back up the hill for our tea and cake stop at Richard and Di's
.
.
Refreshed we make for our last climb, Di smiling broadly as she waves us goodby. No more hills for her
.
.

Time to show a leg - boots on again
.
.
We make our way back to the cars, fully exercised!
.
Photos and captions thanks to Richard and Mike.

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our walks programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the national Ramblers' Association.
