Frocester to Coaley views

30 January 2008
. .
Mike welcomes us outside the Frocester George on a bright sunny day
.
And we set off past Frocester Court
.
And the famous tithe barn
.
Then another ancient structure
.
As we head across the fields towards Coaley
.
A tricky stile with some dangerous barbed wire at Grid Reference SO 781024 Path EFR 18/1
.
Followed by a slippery bridge
.
And an old stone bridge
.
Interesting use of an old tree stump
.
We stop for coffee in am old orchard
.
Then head along a neatly trimmed footpath
.
Looking up towards Frocester Hill
.
With May Hill visible behind us
.
The sun is still shining as we head up Knapp Lane
.
And look back to Cam Long Down
.
Before stopping for more views over the Severn Vale
.
Then we head back across the fields to Frocester, where some of us enjoy a good pub lunch
.

.
Photos and captions thanks to Richard.

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our walks programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the national Ramblers' Association.
