Daneway and Edgeworth

22 January 2008
. .
Our walk starts in the car park of the Daneway and we head off along the canal
.
Passing the point where the Frome is carried under the canal in a U-tube
..
We walk along the top of the Daneway Portal. A suitable site for a kissing gate?
.
And into the fields below Sapperton
. .
Passing St Kenelm's Church
.
Before heading along the edge of Cirencester Park. We are also led by Diana when Richard is taking shots
.
And through the woods towards
.
Pinbury Park
.
We look back down the valley from Pinbury
.
And stop for coffee - careful what you do with that banana skin Janet
.
Then we head towards Edgeworth passing the clapper bridge
.
All except Allen stopping at these cottages
.
Where Mike spots these Winter Aconites - it says they are poisonous in my dictionary
.
As we climb the other side of the valley we look back across at Edgeworth House
.
And we walk across the polo fields
.
Down through Dorvel Wood
.
Bathurst Estate waymarks always prominent
.
Before the weather vane of Daneway House tells us we are nearly back

.
Photos and leading by Richard.
.
top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our walks programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the national Ramblers' Association.
