Alderley to Ozleworth

17 November 2007
.
If Joe doesn't hurry up and get this walk started someone might do him a nasty injury with a walking pole.
.
So we set off along the Cotswold Way
..
Down a sheltered path
.
Then up the valley towards Tresham
.
Stopping for coffee at the Tresham millennium memorial
.
Where we spot some unusual fruit - check out the message board if you don't know what they are
.
We view Tresham church from the outside
.
Before crossing the hill and down into Ozleworth valley
.
Two visitors to the South Cots from Poland - part of the Group's international section
.
Cottages down in the valley
.
We follow the stream
.
Before heading up the valley
.
Past London Bridge
.
Where Joe stops to tell us some of its history - no chance of selling this one to the Yanks!
.
We stop for lunch in Ozleworth churchyard
.
Taking a quick look inside the church
.
Before starting the pm walk, smiling to ourselves as Joe tells to make sure we have all our belongings and don't leave any Poles (poles) behind
.

Another view of Ozleworth House
.
Before we head into Newark Park - in spite of this unwelcoming sign
.
An imposing house
.
We start our descent towards Alderley where we began our walk
.
Walking past some typical Cotswold cottages
.

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our walks programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the national Ramblers' Association.
