Kilkenny and Dowdeswell

10 November 2007

Saturday's walk went well. Turnout of 18 with one prospective new member, weather even brightened up towards the end.
.
Our joint Leader, Norman, suitably attired to lead us on a busy road
.
Although out first obstacle is a five bar gate
..
But soon we have views across rolling Cotswold countryside
.
As we climb past fields of horses and sheep
.
A steep downward slope
.
Brings us to this pond nestling in the valley
.
Amazing what you find growing in the country these days - must be organic!
.
Someone is watching us
.
Lots of leaves down now
.
Norman and Marie wait to lead us across a busy road
.
As we reach the other side of the hill and look down on Cheltenham
.
We pick up the Cotswold Way for a while
.
Past a fire lit by workmen clearing scrub
.
Walking downhill
.
Into another secluded valley
.
Before a final climb through woods back to the cars

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our walks programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the national Ramblers' Association.
