Rodborough pre-AGM walk

28 October 2007

A bit damp and gloomy, and a few hardy souls brighten up the scene
.
Starting form the Rodborough Community Hall we head over the Common in a steady drizzle and down into the valley
.
We walk through Manor Woods, the Autumn colours starting to appear
..
Pausing at this familiar landmark
.
And looking across at Woodchester
.
Before heading up to Minchinhampton Common, passing the time of day with a couple of locals
.
Approaching the Bear we move some cows from the pavement, causing traffic chaos
.
Then walk down the hill
.
Into the valley
.
Crossing the canal at Jubillee Bridge
.
Bad hair day? No just been lying in dead leaves
.
We walk along the canal
.
Past this growing family
.
To Stroud and the Brunel Viaduct
.
With the River Frome
.
Before heading up to Rodborough, looking back at Stroud
.
At the Community Hall Bernard our Secretary has set up his display
.
Ready for the AGM
.
.

Thank you Richard for a record of the 5 mile walk. There was also a 3 mile easy walk around the top of Rodborough Common, where just three managed to shrug off the conditions. However the AGM was well attended in the afternoon and a lively exchange of views took place. The home-made cakes all disappeared too!

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our walks programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the national Ramblers' Association.
