Coopers Hill and Cranham

6 October 2007

Bernard addresses the walkers as we meet in the car park near Prinknash Abbey
.
Then we head up Coopers Hill and as usual stand on the top and look
.
Straight down
.
We go down the hill and pass the Cotswold Way tea shop
.
Stopping for coffee in the Roman Villa - spread out in the kitchen, dining room and bedrooms
.
And reading up on its history before we go
.
In Cranham we gather round the silver birch, the village pound in the background
.
Before heading off across the common
.
Eventually heading down into the Painswick Valley with views across to the other side
.
Reaching the bottom
.
We stop for lunch
.
Then we climb up the other side
.
Some heading up over the Beacon
.
Others taking the easy route
.
Now did we see this rabbit anywhere?
.
Sorry about the quality of this one but its not often you see the back marker and leader walking together

.
.
Photos and captions thanks to Richard

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our walks programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the national Ramblers' Association.
