Gossington Bridge to Slimbridge

2 October 2007

Bernard leads us out of the layby on Gossington Bridge
.
And we head off across a stubble field - last time we came here it was impassible rape!
.
This farmer will have to look elsewhere to sell his milk!
.
The corn is as high as an elephants eye - and higher than some diminutive ramblers!
.
The stile seems to be causing a problem
.
The Sharpness Canal
.
Where we stop for coffee
.
And to watch the boats go by
.
Having put a work of art on the bank it seems a shame to install a mobile shower and toilet alongside it!
.
Nice to see a face from the past out with us again
.
Our path takes us across to Slimbridge Church
.
With its splendid organ
.
And window in memory of Sir Peter Scott
.
In Slimbridge we go from the sublime to the ridiculous
.
Passing these seagulls having a good feed as we head back to the cars
.

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our walks programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the national Ramblers' Association.
